Anthropology News’ feature for International Women’s Day 2017

For International Women’s Day 2017, Anthropology News has asked its regular columnists to recommend one title in feminist ethnography written by a female anthropologist whose work has meant a lot to them over the years. My choice is Prof Lila Abu-Lughod’s Veiled Sentiments: Honor and Poetry in a Bedouin Society,  first published by University of California Press in 1986, and recently re-issued in a 30 years anniversary edition by the same press, and with a new afterword by the author.
